Remembering Rabindranath...

To mark Rabindranath Tagore's birth Anniversary on the occasion on BOISAKH 25, TT Nagar Bengali Association has organized a musical evening with a harmony of vocals and instrumental melodies of Rabindarsangeet. Ashim Bhattacharyya from Kolkata and Sonali Nath from Bhopal would perform on the Kalibari stage on May 12, 2012, Saturday.
Sonali Nath, a serious student of vocal Hindusthani Classical Music, Ravindra Sangeet, Nazrul Geeti and Indian Classical Dance, since her childhood, Sonali fell in love with Hawaiian Guitar, after listening to the mesmerising performance of Guitar Legend - Sunil Ganguly, who subsequently became her Guruji. With the knowledge of Vocal music, and training in the Sunil Ganguly Gharana, Sonali makes her guitar sing Light Classical Dhun, Bhajan, Ghazal, Hindi Film Song, Bengali Film & Modern Song and Tagore songs. She is an award winner in West Bengal Youth Festival and had been invited to perform in programmes organised to commemorate Ustad Alla-ud-din Khan, Ustad Ayet Ali Khan & Ustad Bahadur Khan. She has performed in numerous occasions on stage and her first album 'YAADON KE PATJHAD'- A collection of immortal Hindi Film songs', has been released by Atlantis music, Kolkata & has gained wide appreciation.
